1. Who we are
TruDealers is a TruSaaS product. TruSaaS is a sole proprietor business based in South Africa, trading as TruSaaS.

In this policy "we" and "us" means TruSaaS.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers personal information we collect through trudealers.com, our demo bookings, WhatsApp and phone contact, our dealer accounts, payments and the vehicle data store.
It does not cover the information a dealer keeps about their own customers inside the TruDealers system. For that, see section 9.
3. What we collect
- Contact details you give us: name, dealership, mobile number, email, town.
- Account details for dealers: users' names and logins, and the dealership's business details.
- Payment details: amounts, EFT references and proof of payment you send us. Card payments are handled by PayFast. We never see or store your card details.
- Vehicle data requests: the registration, VIN and any other details you enter to run a check or valuation, and the result.
- Messages you send us by WhatsApp, email or through the website.
- Website use: pages visited and device type, only through cookies you agree to (see section 8).
4. Why we use it
- to reply to you and arrange your demo
- to set up and run your account and your showroom website
- to run the checks and valuations you ask for
- to load your credits, record what you use, and send statements
- to keep the system secure and fix problems
- to send you product news, only if you opted in
5. Our lawful reasons
We only process personal information when POPIA allows it, mainly because:
- you gave consent, or
- we need it to deliver a service you asked for, or to carry out our agreement with you, or
- the law requires it, or
- it is in our or your legitimate interest, for example replying to an enquiry you started.
Some checks need the person's consent before they run. You must have that consent before you run them.
6. Who we share it with
Only as needed to deliver the service:
- vehicle data providers, to run the checks and valuations you ask for
- PayFast, to process card and Instant EFT payments
- service providers that host our systems, send email and messages, and help us run the business
We don't sell personal information. Some service providers may store or process information outside South Africa. When that happens, we make sure the protection is at least as strong as POPIA requires.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons above, or as long as the law requires (for example, financial records). After that we delete it or make it anonymous.
8. Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
9. Dealers' customer information
When a dealer uses TruDealers to store information about their own customers (for example buyers, sellers and trade-ins), the dealer is the responsible party and we are the operator. We process that information only on the dealer's instructions, keep it secure and confidential, and tell the dealer if we believe it has been accessed without permission. Customers who want to see or change their information should contact the dealer first.
10. How we keep it safe
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, damage and unlawful access. If we believe your personal information has been accessed without permission, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
11. Your rights
You can:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and ask for a copy
- ask us to correct or delete it
- object to us processing it, on reasonable grounds
- say no to direct marketing at any time (every marketing message has an opt-out)
- withdraw consent you gave earlier
- complain to the Information Regulator
